Wisdom: This Girl Is On Fire - Addiction & Community (with Yolanda Lancaster)

Dear Otter Creek Family,

Yolanda Lancaster shared her journey of despair to hope, isolation to community, darkness to light. She shared her passion for the power of Jesus' life, Next Right Step, and the love of the Otter Creek family. Do one thing this week that honors her witness. Here are some practical ideas.

• Tell someone you know struggling mightily about our work with Next Right Step.
• Write a note of prayer and encouragement to someone you know struggling with secrets and attachments. If you don't know what to write, start with the Lord's Prayer and the Serenity Prayer from AA.
• Commit to praying for the people God is going to send to us in 2014. Make a list of five people. Pray for them every week.

Our city is full of people suffering in silence and secrets. Jesus has unleashed us to simply bear witness to the possibility that people really can change (in the Bible, it's called repentance).

I can't wait to see what God is going to do in us and through us this year.
