JEFF BENNIE

Jeff and his wife, Jane have been married for 37 years. (Fun fact: OC member Mike Runcie was the minister at their wedding.) They have four children: Rebecca, who lives in Nashville; Blake, who is married to Allison and lives in Houston; Natalie, who is married to Kayce and lives in Birmingham; and Ian, who is married to Laura and lives in Asheville. Jeff is an anesthesiologist who works for USAP at Centennial. He is also an adjunct professor of health at Lipscomb, and teaches in the cardiac perfusion program. Jeff also serves as a medical advisor to Health Talents International in Guatemala and Chikondi Health in Malawi. Jeff and his family originally attended Otter Creek from 1991 to 1997, when they left to be part of the church plant that became Harpeth Community Church. They returned to Otter Creek in 2014. Jeff says the relationships they have with people of Otter Creek are the reason they returned in 2014, and that OC is a place where there are lots of areas in which to serve. Jeff has served in a variety of roles at OC over the years. Prior to 1997, he served as the deacon of missions as well as the deacon of small groups. Since returning in 2014, he has been on the MCC as well as the foreign missions committee and the Vision 2029 committee. He has taught several Sunday morning Bible classes, including three out of the four gospels, and hopes to teach the gospel of John in the spring of 2024.
