Nursery: Our nursery teachers introduce Bible stories using techniques adapted specifically to the babies’ stage of development. Beginning as early as parents are comfortable leaving their children, babies are placed in one of our nurseries according to age. Parents first bring their baby to a centrally located check-in station where a trained volunteer can assist with registration. Our FellowshipOne computer system gives volunteers a way to contact parents in case of emergency, and secures our babies’ safety by giving parents a unique receipt number that they must use to pick up their child. All of our nurseries are staffed with adults who have been screened, background checked, and trained according to our
Younger Preschool: Because of their uniqueness, 2-3 year olds have their own special programming here at Otter Creek. They use the First Look curriculum strategy for learning. This material is designed to give them a first impression of their loving Heavenly Father. First Look is designed to meet these little ones where they are cognitively, spiritually, physically, emotionally and socially. Through age appropriate activities, these little ones are building their spiritual foundation around these three basic truths: God made me. God loves me. Jesus wants to be my friend forever.
Older Preschool: In addition to their class time, Preschoolers have an age-relevant worship time all their own. During worship, children openly express their love for God and praise Him for who He is and all He has done. We incorporate times of energetic music, interactive learning and thoughtful prayer. (8:40am & 11am)
For our older preschool classes (10am), we have implemented God’s Unfolding Story curriculum. More than just a series of great Bible lessons, this material follows a two-year plan. It is a carefully crafted series of stories following God’s revelation of Himself to man in bite-sized pieces that preschoolers can understand, taught in the context of the broader biblical story.
