JOB TITLE:
OC2:10 Director (10 hours/week)

REPORTS TO:
Director of Student Ministries

POSITION OVERVIEW:
As a member of the broader OCKids+OCYG Team, this person will work with the OC2:10 Task Force to
lead the OC2:10 Ministry, which is intended to support individuals with disabilities and their families
through intentional advocacy and inclusion. This role exists to foster a welcoming, supportive church
environment at all campuses, equip volunteers, and ensure all necessary accommodations are
consistently in place. The OC2:10 Director will also provide spiritual encouragement, organize events,
and develop support systems to strengthen the church’s relationship with families in the OC2:10
Ministry (those impacted by special needs).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Inclusion & Accessibility Support
  • Ensure visual schedules, environmental supports, and accommodations are available in all ministry environments (classrooms, worship spaces, lobbies, etc.) across all campuses.
  • Maintain and replenish sensory tools (e.g., headphones, fidgets, wiggle seats) for new and returning families.
  • Collaborate with facility and ministry leads to proactively adapt environments for accessibility and sensory regulation.

2. Family & Volunteer Liaison
  • Build strong relationships with all OC2:10 families to understand individual needs, diagnoses, preferences, and spiritual goals.
  • Serve as a bridge between families and volunteers, ensuring each child/adult receives personalized, appropriate support.
  • Help recruit, train, and coach volunteers for inclusive ministry practices.

3. Events & Community Building
  • Plan and lead quarterly sensory-friendly events that create safe, welcoming spaces for families affected by special needs.
  • Design and facilitate regular support groups tailored for parents/caregivers in the OC2:10Ministry, offering encouragement, resources, and spiritual care.

4. Ministry Leadership & Communication
  • Coordinate and attend scheduled OC2:10 Task Force meetings.
  • Communicate clearly with parents, volunteers, and staff about upcoming events, needs, and stories of impact.
  •  Assist in shaping inclusive curriculum and teaching strategies alongside children’s/youth ministry leaders.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Passion for ministering to individuals with disabilities and their families.
  • Experience in special education, disability ministry, counseling, or related fields - 5yrs experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and relational skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and initiative; able to manage responsibilities with limited oversight.
  • Familiarity with sensory tools and behavior supports a plus.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Approximately 10 hours per week (flexible schedule; includes some Sundays and occasional evenings/weekends).
  • Presence across our campuses as needed, with ability to respond to family needs where appropriate.
