Summary:
The OC Facilities Manager provides leadership and oversight for the maintenance and repairs of
OC campuses. This role leads the Facilities staff and manages outside vendors to ensure safe,
well-maintained, and ministry-ready spaces will support OC’s mission both now and into the
future.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Supervises and develops Facilities staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, excellence, and mission focus.
  • Oversees all hard facilities systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire protection, lighting, structural systems, preventive maintenance, and elevators.
  • Oversees all soft facilities services, including environmental health and safety (EHS) compliance, pest control, security systems, access control, landscaping, and janitorial services.
  • Responsible for the maintenance schedule and overall condition/upkeep of the church vehicles.
  • Utilizes eSpace (OC’s CMMS) to manage work orders, track maintenance activity, and maintain accurate records for facilities and vehicles. Proactively identifies needs and plans preventive maintenance.
  • Coordinates closely with the church calendar to ensure facilities are fully prepared for services, meetings, events, and guest use, including building access, temperature control, lighting, security, room setup, and cleaning.
  • Leads a Facilities Ministry Team of church members (deacons), identifying opportunities for volunteer engagement in maintenance and repair projects and contributing to annual and long-range facilities planning.
  • Develops, manages, and executes the Facilities budget in alignment with OC’s financial policies and procedures, including the Competitive Bid policy, ensuring wise and transparent stewardship of resources.
  • Advises the Executive Minister on long-term facilities planning, capital needs, and opportunities to improve energy efficiency and sustainability.
  • Collaborates with staff to identify facility-related technology needs and supports planning for upgrades and improvements.
  • Acts as general contractor for small-to-medium facilities projects, proactively identifying needs and opportunities for improvement.
  • Communicates proactively, clearly, and collaboratively with staff regarding facility capabilities, constraints, and ministry needs.
  • Leads the Facilities Team in safe work practices, sound judgment, and compliance with all applicable state and local codes and legal requirements.
  • Ensures appropriate Facilities Team presence during worship services and major church functions.
  • Performs other duties as needed in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Provides occasional consultation on facilities matters for Woodlands Retreat.
