- How do you define “post-modern” as it relates to our culture? Do you think post-modernism is good or bad for Christianity?
- Read Daniel 5:5-9. How would you have reacted if you had been at the King’s party when a hand appeared to write on the wall? What would you have done?
- Read Daniel 5:13-17. How do you think Daniel felt about getting called into meet a new king? Why do you think he refused the king’s offer of wealth?
- Read Daniel 5:18-23. Why do you think God wants these non-Israelite kings to know and honor him?
- It would take immense courage to speak the truth to the king as Daniel does. What is the source of Daniel’s courage?
- Rank your courage in speaking truth on a scale of 1 to 10. What is the source for your courage? How can we improve our courage over the course of our lifetimes?
- Pray that we would be a people who would always have the courage to cling to the truth.
