The Digital Side-Hug: Kenda Creasy Dean (The Comfy Church and the Task of Youth Ministry)

The Digital Side-Hug: Kenda Creasy Dean (The Comfy Church and the Task of Youth Ministry)

January 04, 2015 | David Rubio

To kick off the second year of The DSH, Rubio spends 30 terrific minutes with Kenda Creasy Dean, Youth Ministry Professor at the Princeton Theological Seminary.  After a few Christmas questions and an imaginary trip to death row, Rubio asks Kenda to assess how we youth ministers are doing in our battle for the faith of our students.  In this podcast, you will cringe as she talks about the problem of comfortable churches, you’ll be inspired by stories of “Yes” Churches with radical ideas about how to break free from the ages old grip the collection plate has had on our ministries & you’ll be encouraged by what Kenda hears from her students as they share who they are and why they are going into ministry.  Finally, Kenda ALMOST agrees to give John Paul Cooke (current student & David’s former apprentice) a noogie!
