David has been in youth ministry for over 13 years & has been at Otter Creek since January 2003. As youth minister, David’s mission is to partner with parents in the process of raising their kids to a living faith in the Living God. David loves teaching from the Bible, taking kids on mission trips, teaming up with volunteer youth leaders, watching teens mature in Christ, communicating with parents, and reminding the OCYG that God is bigger than their problems. His favorite restaurant is Joey’s House of Pizza, his favorite verse from scripture is Jeremiah ch. 35, his favorite song is “Peace” by Rich Mullins, and his favorite movie is Leap of Faith (though Strictly Ballroom is a CLOSE second). He is in love with his wife (Becky) & super-proud of his amazing kids (Madeline, Benson, & Charity).
According to David: “That shot by Mario Chalmers shouldn’t have even mattered! Earlier in the game, when the Memphis Tigers were still up by 7 points with under two minutes to play, Sherron Collins of Kansas stepped out of bounds on the play where he stole the ball from Derrick Rose! There’s a BIG difference between shooting free throws with a 7-point lead & a 4-point lead, I’ll tell you that. (Long sigh)” |
